The One With Lots of Drama and Boldness

I don't have a lot of time, but I will just give y'all the quick rundown of this week.

Jung Bo-rahm is doing great. She is still having a hard time reading her scriptures, but she is progressing toward baptism! I have no doubt that she will be ready to be baptized soon even if she just wants to wait until September.

Nam Gyunghoei is just making my sad! She told us this week that she is not happy with her life and that she feels like she has no purpose. We taught her about the Plan of Salvation and testified to her boldly and plainly of its truthfulness and said that if she prayed, when she prayed she would know it was true and know that God loves her, she is worth so much and she is God's child and that she has a very important purpose on the earth. She wasn't so convinced. She just kept saying it was all like a fairy tale. I told her that she can think that but I know it is true. I told her basically that the only way to know if Sister Workman and I are crazy fools wasting our time halfway across the world in Korea or if everything we say and promise is true is through prayer. We taught her to pray and committed her to do it that night. I really hope she does or else she might just have to be a drop. I get the feeling that she is just using us for English and to have foreigner friends. Gosh. People really break your heart when they are stubborn!

Okay, now the drama!! It all started last week on Monday when we got a call from the president of our service project saying the whole thing was off without explanation then a series of subsequent calls from another lady whose kids attend. And nobody sounded happy! It turns out that one of the moms at the service activity wanted us to teach her kids English at the same time as English class activity and the moms all got in a fight over us. I got a little upset because they were treating us like free English teachers and not missionaries! Ugh. That happens so much and I just hate getting used! It's so annoying! I came to Korea to teach about Christ, not to teach people the ABC's! But after lots of long phone calls and a lot of drama, we figured it all out and got two new investigators out of the whole fiasco! But hopefully it all works out! Please pray that the lady we're starting the Family English program with will have interest in the gospel and not just use us for English!

Well, that's all I've got for this week!

사랑해요!
"I you love"

Sister Johns

It's summer again!! That means sunburns and heat exhaustion!

It's peach season! You can get a whole bushel of these for only 3,000원 (that's less than $3, folks!)
